Pretty Vases

Hello! Hope you are all having a nice Saturday. After pampering myself, before vacation with a pedi and mani, I came home and thought I would share some of my

Pretty Vases.

I love decorating my home with vases and flowers, don't you?

First, I will show you what I did with this old, glass milk bottle.

I took three different colors of acrylic paints - red, white, and blue. I wanted to create a patriotic vase.

Red

White

Blue

Next, I picked up the vase in both hands, tipped it over on its side, and rolled the vase around.

I set the vase on its side and let the paint dry over night. You can do it this way or place the vase up-side down on a paper towel, if you want, to let the paint dry.

Sometimes, I'll even place the vase both ways for a little while. It's fun to see how the paint forms inside the vase.

I love how this side of the vase turned out with the red streak all the way up the bottle.

I added some red, white, and blue flowers, that I had around the house, and that's it!

Such an easy craft!

Here are some pictures of another vase that I have decorated:

I used a pale pink chalk paint on the big vase, then used a toothpick to remove the paint in the design at the bottom of the vase.
I have also painted my Ball Mason Jars  (you can purchase these at Walmart) with chalk paint and added flowers to them.

I think it's pretty when the color of the flowers match the color of the vase. It seems more uniform that way in my opinion.

I have so many other vases that I would like to decorate...

...and some of them just need to be left alone.

Hope you enjoyed my Pretty Vases post on my blog today!

Have a very fun and safe Memorial Holiday!

Lake Cottage Vacation

Hello and Happy Friday! I'm so glad it is Friday. I am now on VACATION!!!! I don't have to return to work until June 1st!! Yay! I'm so excited!

Hubby and I rented a cottage on a lake for a week! This is our first time renting a cottage. This is something we have always wanted to do and we are finally getting to do this! We will leave this Sunday, after church and come home next weekend.

Isn't this cute? I love the A-frame!

We will have a 14 ft. row boat, 2 canoes, paddle-boat, dock space, swim raft, and a sandy wading area. Also, a fire pit (with wood), lake side deck with a grill, table, and many chairs!

Inside, we will have a full size bed on the main floor and 2 singles in the loft.

In the kitchen we will have a coffee-maker, microwave, and pots and pans.

We will have soft water for the shower, A/C, cable t.v. and we will only have to bring our own bedding and towels (and food).

We are hoping for a pleasant, relaxing vacation by doing some fishing, walking, and canoeing.

We plan on taking lots of pictures during our week on the lake. I can't wait to share them all with you!

Do you have vacation plans, yet? I would love to hear what you have planned. Any plans for Memorial Day?

I hope you all have a great and safe Holiday!

Thanks for stopping by!

I Can't Decide - Help Please

Hello. I hope you all are having a nice weekend. I'm sitting here trying to decide if I want to start using Blogger as my main blogsite or if I should stay with Wordpress. I'm so used to Wordpress because that is what I found first when I was beginning to blog and I am used to it, but there are some things that I just don't like about it, like not having very many fonts to choose from, my projects page is all jumbled up, and a few other things that are just not easy to work with.

Have any of you tried other sites for your blog that you have liked or not liked? Which ones did you use? Did you switch over to using a different one?

I would really appreciate your help and thoughts on what sites you have tired. Hope to hear from you soon.
