Round Table Makeover

Hi! Thank you for stopping by today. I’m so glad you’re here! What nice warm weather we are having! It’s about time, right?

After churh and lunch, I worked on several projects that I can’t wait to share with you all.

Today, I am sharing my round table makeover. My hubby brought this round table home from an apartment that someone left behind. I have had it for about three years now and decided it was time to give it a makeover.

As you can see, the top of it had a few stains. I love the base and the legs on this table.

I really got brave and did some things on this project that I had not done before.

I mod podged the top with Paris printables that I found on Pinterest.

Then, I painted the legs with FolkArt chalk paint (Cascade) that I purchased at JoAnn Fabrics

After I modpodged the printables on top of the table, I cut off the acsess with a craft knife and modpodged over it all again! After cutting the printables it exposed the brown on the table top. At first, I thought about paintng it with the FolkArt paint that I had used on the legs, but decided to just keep the edge brown. I finished off with some clear wax on the base and legs.

What do you think? Keep the edge brown or paint with the FolkArt?

For decorations, I added the candle that I made, a plaque that I received as a gift from my sister and a small vase of a couple tulips that I had around the house. I was using this table to place more pictures of my granddaughters. Can’t have too many pictures around of them now, can I? I will share with you how I made my candle another time.

And that’s how I created my Round Table Makeover!

Thank you for stopping by!

Mirror Makeover

Hello! Today I am sharing a project that I did the other day. Hubby works at an apartment complex and people leave items in their apartments when they move out. He takes a picture of the item and sends it to my phone and asks me if I want it. Most of the time, I say yes. I love to make lost items into something pretty.

This is a mirror/picture that he sent to me and I told him to go ahead and bring it home and I would see what I could do with it.

This is how much it cost:

Someone paid $39.99 or $19.99 but, yes...I got it for free!!

This is what it looked like when he brought it home.

It was hard to make out what it even said. The first thing I did was paint the frame white using Americana Deco' Chalky Paint.

Then I taped it off with blue paint tape and painted the front of it black with Michael's Craftsman chalkboard paint.

I decided that I didn't like it because I thought, why would I want to use this as a chalk board? It's a little long for that and where would I put it? Then, I noticed the paint was starting to peel off and I saw some lettering underneath the black chalkboard paint.

I took a razor blade and started scraping off the black paint.

And this is what I found!

I loved it! Why would anyone want to cover this up?

I'm going to hang it up above a doorway in my home soon.

Thank you for stopping by today!
